About us
Nachke began as a tiny spark in Indooroopilly, where two young students asked to learn Kathak. What started as a quiet side-class quickly grew into something bigger: a space where South-Asian kids and families could reconnect with culture, confidence, and community through dance. Today, Nachke is becoming a home for anyone who wants to express themselves, learn something new, or rediscover a part of their heritage. At Nachke, we offer regular kids and adults classes, school workshops, private event choreography (including weddings and cultural functions), and online tutorials for those who want to learn from anywhere. Whether you’re taking your first step or preparing for a big stage moment, our classes blend technique with fun, tradition with creativity, and discipline with joy. Nachke’s teaching style is warm, energetic, and rooted in authenticity. We focus on helping students feel confident in their movement, proud of their identity, and excited to grow. No matter your background or level, everyone is welcomed with open arms — just come as you are and dance.

OUR STORY
The heart of Nachke comes from its founder, Kavishi Jain, who fell in love with dance at just four years old. Growing up in Delhi, she trained professionally in Kathak for 12 years, building strong foundations in rhythm, expression, and discipline. Along the way, she also explored Bollywood, Indian folk styles, and even hip hop, shaping her into a versatile performer with a deep cultural connection. When Kavishi moved to Australia, she realised something. Many South-Asian kids felt distant from their culture, especially from the art forms their parents grew up with. Dance became her way of bridging that gap — a way to bring a piece of India here, so young dancers could feel rooted, proud, and inspired. Nachke began with nothing but passion, two students, and a dream. Today, it is steadily growing into a platform that creates opportunities for dancers of all ages to perform, learn, and feel seen. From local showcases to community events, Kavishi has already organised and performed in 150+ stage performances, led workshops, and created a supportive environment where creativity can shine. Nachke isn’t just a dance company. It’s a place where culture meets expression. Where kids find confidence. Where adults rediscover joy. And where every dancer, no matter their level, gets to feel at home.
